K&N crankcase vent filters are perfect for racing applications, vintage cars or individuals who want to add some aesthetics to their classic carbureted engine. The 62-1015 crankcase vent filter has a K&N embossed chrome-plated steel top with a chrome-plated steel base. The 1/2 inch diameter zinc tube is designed to push in and clamp directly onto metal or plastic tubing where venting is needed. Constructed with a synthetic filter media it can be cleaned and reused repeatedly. Filters can be pressed into rubber grommets in valve covers for direct mounting. When using dual carburetors or performance type single carburetors, this Crankcase Breather should be installed in place of the PCV valve located at the back of the valve cover. NOTE: Legal in California only for racing vehicles which may never be used, registered, or licensed for use upon a highway. See knfilters.com for CARB status on each part for a specific vehicle. The New K&N Filters will not come with oil like the good old days.
This removes the PCV valve which is used to remove carbon from the crankcase, which keeps your oil cleaner. If running this filter, you will need to change your oil every 300-500 miles. If your vehicle is STREET DRIVEN at all, we recommend retaining the PCV Valve System.
