To eliminate the chance of rod failure when building your motor we highly recommend replacing your rod bolts. At continuous high rpm, the stock bolts will stretch, and rod bearing or rod failure occurs. These Pro Rod Bolts are the most durable most reliable replacement bolts available.
NOTE: These are for LC Pro H-Beam connecting rods only. If you have a stock style rod, you will need 1013201.

Torque Specs: Always Use ARP Moly Lube
To accurately determine the life of a bolt, it is recommended that a log of the bolts original free-standing (un-torqued) length should be kept and recorded upon subsequent tear-downs for inspection. The free-standing length should be checked against it’s original length. If there is an increase of .001” or more, or if there is any permanent deformation or galling, the bolt should be replaced. If you do not have a stretch gauge, follow these steps using a Moly assembly lube. After rods are installed into the motor, torque bolts to 70ft-lbs. Loosen the nuts. Torque to 70ft-lbs. again. Loosen the nuts and torque to 70ft-lbs. a third and final time.
